- Monitor compliance with, and contraventions of financial reporting standards, and make recommendations thereto to Financial Reporting Standards Council (FRSC)
- Licensing of Business rescue practitioners
- Report, research and advise the Minister on matters of national policy relating to company and intellectual property law.
Steps to register as a CIPC customer.
To register as a customer on CIPC you will need only your ID number or passport number if you are foreign national.

3 steps to register as a CIPC customer
- First, head to the CIPC website.
Click of CUSTOMER REGISTRATION as indicated bellow.
- Choose you Identity document
This will take you to a page where you can select the type of identity document you wish to use. If you have a South African ID, click on the YES button. If you have a passport click on NO.
Next you will need to enter your ID number or passport number. Note that you will need to enter your surname as well if you are using a South African ID. - Enter you Personal detail and Contact information
The last step is to set up your contact info which is your phone numbers, email address, physical as well as postal addresses.
